I bought these as a gold box deal, but the price is no different than the current Amazon list price (I received them today). The binoculars will not appropriately align for sight by individuals with narrower eyes, but much more problemmatic is 1) each binoccular optic can not be uniformaly focused at the same time and 2) they appear to have a green algae growing within the lenses, which distorts view and images around the perimetor of the viewing area.

I generally have been very pleased with Amazon products, but I am most disspaointed in these binoculars and will be returning them.

I bought these binoculars with high hopes. We have a diverse bird population in our backyard and have gone through several "cheap" pairs that have all ended up lost or rained on. I have 2 kids who like to take them exploring, etc. There is always the possibility that they will end up outside. We also like to fish, canoe, etc. where there is also the chance of getting wet. So, the fact that these were waterproof/fogproof was a big selling point for me. So far, they have survived a fishing trip where we tried to spot some bald eagles to no avail, and numerous trips outside. They work great. Simple as that.

I agree with the previous review.

Seems to be a decent product. Very sturdy but the caps simply would not stay on! I would have given a 5 star should the caps stayed on and served the purpose of lense protections.

Very good product considering the price. Appear to be well made and function as described. The only negative is, the lens caps do not stay fixed to the binoculars to provide protection.

Rating:
I really like these binoculars for general use. But there are certain specific types of uses that make this pair less than ideal. As long as you know what you need it for, this may meet your need at a great price.

Bushnell is known for quality and is a good brand overall. These binoculars also have some nice included features that you normally get at a much higher price range.

The 10 time magnification comes in handy for getting good detail on medium range objects. As for the effects of the lens coatings, I really can't report any significantly lower light loss and glare relative to similarly sized pairs I've had. The sealed rubber housing is indeed tough-feeling, and so far the fogproof claim hasn't been disproven.

But there are some caveats. Because of the lens size, this is really only useful for daytime use. That's the first thing all users should be aware of.

The large magnification combined with the smaller than ideal objective lens is not suitable for capturing moving objects well. So for those looking to use these for bird watching or fast moving objects at longer distances, you will have to look elsewhere. Granted at close to medium range you don't have to use the entire magnification. But at any longer range the usability of these breaks down.

If you're a general user this model may fit your needs. If you are mainly trying to track fast moving objects you should step up to a higher end pair with perhaps less magnification or a larger object lens.

Enjoy.
It's a small telescope, with an stable table equatorial EQ1 mount, amazing optics

This is a level 1 telescope: beginner telescope

The finder is not comfortable to use, then I replace with Orion EZ finder deluxe reflex sight. It's so easy to align the telescope with this

I can see Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, Mars (a small red spot). the Moon and the Sun with Orion Solar Filter for StarMax 90, Apex 90, Meade ETX-90

It's useful to add Orion 1.25" Dielectric Mirror Star Diagonal and Orion Tri-Mag 3x Barlow Lens 1.25"

The seller " [...] ", send their products with double packed, but arrives safe without damage.

You can't beat Pete. All the Peterson guides are excellent. If money is a factor, attend a few "Friends of the _______ Library" book sales. Peterson's guide to the eastern birds crops up very frequently. The Golden Press book Birds of North America is good too but for background information, rather than as a field guide. Avoid the Audubon guides -- poorly organized.

Avoid the Audubon guides -- poorly organized.

You can’t beat Pete. All the Peterson guides are excellent. If money is a factor, attend a few “Friends of the _______ Library” book sales. Peterson’s guide to the eastern birds crops up very frequently. The Golden Press book Birds of North America is good too but for background information, rather than as a field guide. Avoid the Audubon guides — poorly organized.

There are several good field guides, but the National Geographic guide is best in my opinion. Peterson isn't bad, but it doesn't cover all of the US and Canada; if you ever travel to the West Coast, you'd need the western guide.
