Where can I find good information on binoculars used in WWII?

I've been trying to find a pair of 10x WWII binoculars, and don't know much about them. I've seen some on Ebay and other sites, but don't know which are good and which are not (brand name, etc.). I'm having a hard time finding any websites or anything that can give me more info.

There are books you can find that show equipment from different armed forces back in ww2. Also re-inactors generally have information like that available as well.
The web is great but limited in a lot of ways, go down to Barnes and Nobel’s or some other big book store, look in the military history section you should find books on uniforms. or even go to a hobby store that sells military models. they usually carry these small books that give descriptions and photos of the equipment and uniforms used.
Heck even go down to a army surplus store, a lot of them carry old equipment and some even sell militaria that goes back to the various wars.
If your interested in a Field phone I know a place here in the bay area that has one.
Best of luck and good hunting.
My wife had glamor shots done awhile back with her sister. They made her look pretty good with the poofy hair and they did a great job on her makeup. JCP around here doesn't even do pictures anymore but Sears does. Last time we took the kids there for pics, we had a teenager, probably college student, impatient, not good with kids, not a good experience.
Of course it depends what one you go to and who has good makeup artists and hair people and who doesn't. The one my wife went to the prep people did well.
Being a photographer now, I have taken much much better shots of her than her Glamor shots from back in the day. Glamor shots like that are fun and challenging for a photographer to get just the right picture, or at least that's how it is for me. If you went to a real pro, you're much more likely to get a better experience from it all. Its never a guarantee, but a reputable photographer will have you come back for free if you're not happy with what they've got for pics. The key to all the smiling and stuff is having confidence in yourself, and having confidence in the photographer. Good Luck.
Friend, your question itself gives the answer. It is laudable for you to say that you want to leave this Earth a better place to be, when you leave. You have the right perspective of the insignificance of one's life in the bigger scheme of things. Still, your desire to do something is all that is needed as the initial capital.
You can make this Earth a better place. Try organising simple awareness campaigns against Global Warming, Human Rights Violations, Social vigil against crimes, promoting civic alertness against the schemes of terrorists,…………..the list can be long. Why you can even run a campaign for youngsters against drug addiction, and relate with them emotionally with your own experience. A practical suggestion, instead of keeping the purpose too wide like "bettering humanity", focus down to one of its strands and work on that. Remember, as you said, none of us have more than a century of opportunity to do anything. Contribute your drop, and the mighty ocean is always made of little drops.
